Aleit Swanepoel's final series, Die laaste tyd met Aleit, will air from Saturday 2 July at 18:00 on kykNET (DStv 144).

The news of the popular presenter and lifestyle guru's death on Sunday, 15 May, sent shock waves through the country. Swanepoel died a week after filming a new season of Tyd met Aleit.

"I believe it is important to finish what we started – Aleit would have expected nothing less," says the producer of the series, Jorrie van der Walt, on the decision to broadcast the new season. "These last 13 episodes are a way for Aleit to still be a part of people's lives, and we are airing it with the full approval of his family."

"We are honoured to be part of the production," says Hans Roosenschoon of the Aleit Group, sponsor of Die laaste tyd met Aleit, in collaboration with Empty Canvas Productions, a|CREATE and The Aleit Academy. "Aleit was not only the founder of the Aleit Group but also the cornerstone of the business, and for that, we honour him."

The first episode of the new series will be a celebration of Aleit – of his generous life and larger-than-life personality. This tribute episode includes interviews with colleagues, friends and the production team.

"Viewers will get to know Aleit behind the scenes and also see the impact that he had on so many people's lives," says Jorrie. "There are several flashbacks to previous seasons as well as new material, like when Aleit was challenged to overcome his fear of snakes. There are tears but also a lot of laughter."

For the 12 remaining episodes, Aleit interviewed people who overcame major obstacles in their lives or made a difference in the lives of others.
