Thane ex-mayor Meenakshi Shinde expelled for cheering Sena rebels

Thane: Former mayor and Eknath Shinde loyalist Meenakshi Shinde was expelled from the Shiv Sena following a notice issued by the party on Tuesday. The notice, a copy of which went viral, holds Meenakshi responsible for participating in activities that are against the interests of the party.
Meenakshi has been aggressively supporting the rebel camp and participating in rallies in its support. Last week, Naresh Mhaske was expelled from his position in the party.
A few corporators who still owe allegiance to the Shiv Sena were summoned to Matoshree, apparently on the intervention of MP Rajan Vichare, for talks on reviving the party. A decision to find a replacement for the rebel office-bearers is also being chalked out, said a local functionary. Manoj Badgeri
