Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): The Gwalior High Court has given a big direction over nursing colleges operating in the region below the prescribed standards.
The HC in its new order has directed the Nursing Council to cancel the recognition of 70 nursing colleges.
Along with this, the High Court has ordered a departmental inquiry against the responsible officers and employees who give recognition to these nursing colleges.
Notably, one advocate Umesh Bohre had filed a petition bringing to fore the irregularities in the Nursing College operating in the region, after which the High Court Gwalior had constituted an inquiry committee.
Following HC's order, all nursing colleges were investigated and an inquiry committee conducted physical verification of all 270 colleges in the zone and submitted an investigation report to the High Court.
In the meantime, the High Court had also sought a report from the Nursing Council. On the basis of these reports, instructions have been given to cancel the recognition of these 70 nursing colleges.
