Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Thirteen authors who write for children from across the country were feted at Manas Bhawan in the city on Tuesday evening.
The writers including Ragini Upalwar (Bhopal), Manjari Shukla (Haryana), Raviji Bhai Narshibhai (Gujarat), Pankaj Virwal 'Kishore' (Rajasthan), Arjun Das Khatri (Bhopal), Dr Madhu Jain (Bhopal), Sadashiv Kautuk (Indore), Arun Kumar Jain (Bhopal), Pawan Kumar Verma (Varanasi), Nayan Kumar Rathi (Indore), Pratima Akhilesh Shrivastava (Jabalpur), Suhani Yadav (Kanpur) and Aruni Richharia (Bhopal) were felicitated with various ‘Bal Sahityakar Samman’.
Bal Kalyan Evam Bal Sahitya Shodh Kendra, Bhopal organised the felicitation ceremony to mark its foundation day.
Vice Chancellor of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi University Prof Khem Singh Dehariya, Manoj Shrivastava (retired IAS officer), director of Jawahar Bal Bhavan Umashankar Nagayach, author Usha Jaiswal, child artiste Vatsala Choubey were present as guests.
All the dignitaries said that only literature can inculcate values ??in children. “To create a cultured generation, it is necessary that children should be turned towards literature,” they said.
Besides, the event began with Saraswati Vandana. It was followed by patriotic songs which enthralled the audience. The guests were welcomed by the director Mahesh Saxena.
Books ‘Nanhi Pari' by Rajkumari Choukse, 'Afat Kau Ashadh' by Hemraj Kurmi and 'Aao Banwan Nimar Ka Mandana' by Purnima Chaturvedi were also released.
