Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh): Bhopal traffic police have penalised two adolescent bikers who are minors, for violating traffic norms. A penalty of Rs 36,500 was taken from the two, police said on Tuesday.
Deputy commissioner of police (DC, Traffic) Hansraj told Free Press that in the past two days as many as 26 vehicles in which modified silencers were installed and 28 vehicles which were driven by drunken persons were seized. The cases were presented in the Court for further action.
He added that an adolescent was caught driving a high speed bike with modified silencer. The rider was charged with an amount of Rs 26k as penalty.
In another incident, a high speed bike driven by an adolescent carrying two more persons as pillion riders has been charged with a penalty of Rs 10,500.
DC Traffic added that Bhopal police is keeping an eye on such bikers. Since April 30, a special campaign is being carried out in the city and till date the police have taken action against 869 bikers with modified silencers in their bikes. The police have also taken action against 418 drivers, who were found drunken.
