Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, while taking a dig at BJP MP Varun Gandhi's statement about MPs sacrificing pension, said that Varun is a free opinionated person and is also very fond of giving personal opinions.
Narendra Singh Tomar, in protest against Varun Gandhi's statement, said that Varun Gandhi has his personal opinion on everything.
Notably, the young BJP MP had said that all MPs should give up their pension so that the path of pension of Agniveers can be made easy.
Varun Gandhi, on his Twitter handle, said that the great people and freedom fighters of India have often sacrificed their needs for the betterment of the country. Taking inspiration from their sacrifice, can't we all MPs reduce the burden of the government by sacrificing our pension? Can't we make the path of pension to the agniveers easy?
Gandhi's tweet had come as youths were opposing short-term defence services' recruitment scheme -Agnipath.
To add the Pilibhit MP had mentioned in his tweet that the public sat times had shunned the subsidy on LPG and at times, contributed to nation with swachhta tax. "Can the nationalist MPs draw inspiration from the public and lessen the burden of the government," Gandhi had asked.
