Rajkot: City police commissioner Raju Bhargava has ordered a departmental inquiry against a crime branch cop, Dharmendrasinh Zala, in connection with the vandalism done at an egg cart near Hemu Gadhvi Hall on Sunday night.
Egg cart owner Razak Piparvadiya and his son Haider were allegedly thrashed by a group of people, two of whom were identified as Gajubha Parmar and Yuvrajsinh Jadeja. Jadeja had gone to the cart to have food but there was a rush and Piparvadiya told him that he would have to wait.
Jadeja left but returned around midnight saying he was the brother of a crime branch policeman. An altercation ensued and Jadeja and others allegedly resorted to vandalism by breaking the car, eggs and hurling chairs and tables. They even thrashed the father-son duo
