BHOPAL (Madhya Pradesh): A letter by the Department of Higher Education (DHE) asking newly appointed assistant professors, librarians, and sports officers to provide their documents once again for verification has not gone down well with them. They are terming it as a delay tactic in doing away with the probation period by the department.

DHE officials have asked the assistant professors, librarians and sports officers selected through MPPSC in 2018-20 to furnish their original documents like medical records and undertakings on records related to court cases, departmental inquiry, suspension, remaining absent without due permission, and documents related to their categories.

President of the State Government Collegiate Education Professors Association, Kailash Tyagi has written to the additional chief secretary, the higher education department to look into the matter and end unnecessary delay in ending the probation of the newly selected staff members.

“Appointment of any government servant cannot be done without providing the medical certificate from the medical board. This process has already been completed by all the staff members after their appointment. All the documents have been verified as well. Repeating the same process once again might create complications,” said the president of the association, Kailash Tyagi.

Over 3000 newly appointed assistant professors, librarians and sports officers have termed it as a delay tactic by the department officials.
