Rumoured messages started pouring on social media regarding the selection of former MLA Subhash Bhoir and Anand Dighe's nephew Kedar Dighe for the post of Shiv-Sena Thane district chief following the resignation of Shiv-Sena Thane district chief Naresh Mhaske in support of rebel MLA Eknath Shinde.

Soon after the congratulatory messages started coming in for Kedar Dighe on his social media account, he made an announcement saying that 'no such appointment had been made' and he deleted the posts.

After the revolt of Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde, Naresh Mhaske resigned as Shiv Sena Thane district chief. On the very next day, Shiv Sena chief and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray expelled Mhaske from the party for his anti-party activities. While many office-bearers in the district and the city are openly supporting Shinde, on the other hand, the responsibility of the party has not yet been handed over to anyone.

All eyes are on who will be the next Shiv Sena Thane district chief following Mhaske's resignation.

While many Shiv Sainiks from Thane district are supporting Shinde, on the other hand, former MLA from Kalyan Gramin and senior Shiv Sena leader Subhash Bhoir declared his support for Uddhav Thackeray.

"I am where I am. I will stay with Uddhav Saheb,” he said.

"I have given the message that I am not with the rebels," added Bhoir. Therefore, while the discussion was going on whether he would be appointed as the district head, messages of his appointment and congratulations were spread on social media. However, after some time, it became clear that this was a rumour.

After Shinde's revolt, Anand Dighe's nephew Kedar Dighe also clarified that he would stay with Shiv Sena. Kedar Shinde also met Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray at Matoshree.

While the discussion is still on who will be appointed as the Shiv-Sena's Thane district chief, the message that Kedar Dighe has been appointed to this post was also spread on social media.

"As of now, Shiv Sena chief and Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, as well as his son and Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray, have not officially appointed me or anyone as a Shiv Sena Thane district chief," Kedar Dighe clarified on social media.
