Navi Mumbai: Kharghar, which is already a hub of educational institutions, will get one more professional colleges as the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has come up with a plot for higher education.
In addition, the planning agency is also offering a plot in the Ghansoli node which is near to IT firm Airoli.
From the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) to ITM, the Kharghar node houses a number of premium education institutions for higher education. There has always been a demand for plots from education institutions.
According to the Social Service Department of CIDCO, the two plots will be given on lease to trusts or societies registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950 or under section 8 of the Companies Act 2013 for establishing a professional college.
The plots are available at sector 12 in Kharghar and sector 6 in Ghansoli. While the size of the Kharghar plot is around 3133 sqm, the Ghansoli plot is bigger with a 12,196 sqm area.
The base price for the Ghansoli plot is Rs 22,049 per sqm, while the Kharghar plot has Rs 30,172 per sqm. The applicants can bid for these two plots till July 15 and the e-auction will take place on September 9.
Similarly, the e-auction of a 2360 sqm plot in sector 19 in Airoli for higher education will be held on July 14. The base price of the plot is Rs 21,813 per sqm.
Earlier, the planning agency had offered five plots for educational institutions in Sanpada and developing node Dronagiri.
For the last year, CIDCO has been flooded with plots across the city to meet the demand as well as to control the rising price of houses.
