Tushar Pandey, who is best known for acting in films like Chhichhore and web series like Aashram, will soon be seen in Titu Ambani. The film is helmed by Rohit Raj Goyal and will release on July 8.

The actor took his time to greenlight projects after Chhichhore. “The ideas that were coming my way were so similar. After Chhichhore, all the roles that I was offered were so similar. And the idea was not to run after them. Then Aashram was offered to me, and that brought weightage to my career. My motive is very simple... go slow and do the right kind of work,” he shares.

When asked why his role was discontinued in Aashram, he clarifies, “My character dies in the second season of Aashram. Prakash (Jha) sir was very happy with my work as he had spoken about it with me. When I was offered the role, the first two chapters were already written, and we shot them together. That’s how it was already planned.”

Tushar does several things in his free time. “I keep doing a lot of other stuff whenever I get time. I teach acting at the National School of Drama. If I’m free, I go once or twice a week. I’m also on the Board of directors of The Drama School Mumbai. I am running the whole foundation,” he reveals.

The actor then talks about his future projects. “I have shot a film which is ready for release. Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, it is ready and titled LOST. I can’t disclose anything about my character. The cast comprises myself, Yami (Gautam Dhar) and Pankaj Kapur. The release date is yet to be announced. My next immediate release is Titu Ambani. It will release in July. I have another project which is yet to be announced officially,” he says.

Bollywood films releasing in theatres are not doing that well. When quizzed if he feels any pressure, Tushar states, “There is the pressure. It’s a genuine concern, and I hope the film does well. They are planning extensive publicity and travel around the country. Hoping it creates and generates the required buzz. I am keeping my fingers crossed. It’s a genuine journey of this boy to man in a simple manner. Belonging and knowing the two-tier city, he has to know the responsibilities of relationships and family. Also, actors like Raghubir Yadav and others who are involved in the project are credible in their work. We have done our best.”
