BHUBANESWAR: NDA presidential nominee Droupadi Murmu was accompanied by two ministers from the Naveen Patnaik government and was accorded a warm send-off at Bhubaneswar airport before she flew out to New Delhi to file her nomination for the July 18 election.
“I am thankful to all my well-wishers,” Murmu said at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, where tribal and folk dance troupes performed and people from various walks of life and state BJP leadership had gathered to see her off.
On Friday, Murmu will file her nomination and BJD ministers Tukuni Sahu and Jagannath Saraka would be there when she does so. Ten BJP MLAs also travelled to Delhi in the evening to be present when Murmu files her nomination.
