Ahmedabad: 182 new, 971 active Covid cases in city

AHMEDABAD: The city on Thursday recorded 182 new Covid cases, a notch lower than Wednesday’s tally of 207. Gujarat recorded 416 new cases, taking the active cases to 1,927 after discharge of 230 patients. In Ahmedabad, the active cases reached 971, accounting for nearly half of the state’s tally.
The share of the cities remained significant. There were 56 cases in Surat city, 40 in Vadodara city, 34 in Surat district, 15 in Rajkot city, 13 in Bhavnagar city, 12 in Valsad, and 11 in Gandhinagar city among others. Of the 33 districts, only seven have zero active cases. Ahead of the Rath Yatra, they also indicated that Covid protocols including social distancing and wearing of masks would be made mandatory for both devotees and participants.
