Gurgaon: In the wake of a spurt in Covid cases across the state, teams of experts from the office of the director general of health services will take stock of vaccination and testing in all 22 districts in the next seven days.
Rajeev Arora, the Haryana additional chief secretary (health), has directed the teams to analyse data of people who are yet to get their first, second or booster doses of the Covid vaccine across all age categories. All districts have also been told to increase vaccination and testing. The move comes as the state is witnessing a rise in daily Covid cases whereas the pace of testing and booster dose vaccination has been low.
Under the Centre’s ‘Har Ghar Dastak 2.0’ campaign, which aims to vaccinate people through door-to-door campaigns, the state government had identified over 2.4 lakh people who were yet to get jabs.
So far in June, Haryana has inoculated over 1.5 lakh recipients at their homes, while another 28,978 got jabs in marketplaces. Around 64,000 recipients identified under the campaign are yet to be vaccinated.
With 36,247 doses, Gurgaon has carried out the maximum vaccinations this month under the campaign, followed by Kaithal (15,077), Ambala (11,392), Bhiwani (11,182) and Rewari (10,264). After Nuh (no doses given), Panchkula administered the least doses (926), followed by Palwal (1,857), Kurukshetra (4,071) and Charkhi Dadri (4,968).
“We have already carried out house-to-house vaccination drives in rural and semi-rural areas of Gurgaon. We will be intensifying the drive as the polio campaign is now over. Our staff can now focus solely on Covid vaccination,” said CMO Dr Virender Yadav.
