JAIPUR: Majority of the places in the state on Thursday witnessed a 5°C rise in maximum temperatures due to westerly winds. Sirohi was the hottest logging 43.8°C, Met reports said. Weather will mainly remain dry in the state.
People in Jaipur woke up to a comparatively warmer morning of 27.4°C. It was followed by a warmer afternoon having a maximum temperature of 37.6°C. On Sunday, Jaipur’s temperature had dipped 10°C due to rains. In the next couple of days, there is no forecast of rainfall in or around the city.
Sirohi was followed by Dholpur where a maximum temperature of 40.8°C was recorded, Barmer (40°C), Jodhpur (39.8°C), Jaisalmer (38.9°C). Bhilwara (38°C), Bikaner 38°C, Alwar (37.8°C), Ajmer (37.4°C) ,
Udaipur (36.6°C) and Sikar (36°C).
Jaipur Met office said westerly winds have delayed the arrival of monsoon in Rajasthan. “Westerly winds are likely to vanish from the state from June 26 onwards. After that, the wind pattern and monsoon winds would be studied to give a clear predication on the arrival of monsoon,” said Radhey Shyam Sharma, Director, Jaipur Met office.
In its forecast, Jaipur Met office said dry spell would continue for next couple of days in the state.
