CHANDIGARH:
Punjab police's anti-gangster task force (AGTF) head ADGP Promod Ban said on Thursday that planning for eliminating singer-rapper Sidhu Moose Wala had started in August 2021 and recces were conducted at least thrice.
The shooters had reached Mansa on May 25 and succeeded in killing Moose Wala on May 29 using AK-series weapons and 9mm pistols. The ADGP said a total of 13 accused had been arrested in the case till now.
This includes the arrest of Sirsa native Baldev alias Nikku on Thursday. Nikku had carried out a recce along with Sandeep Kekda, clicked a selfie with Moose Wala outside his house on May 29, gave a signal to the waiting shooters and passed on real-time information through video call to gangster Goldy Brar in Canada and gangster Lawerence Bishnoi's associate Sachin Thapan, who also resides abroad, for executing the murder plan. Nikku is a proclaimed offender in at least 14 other criminal cases.
The AGTF chief said gangster Bishnoi had revealed that he had hatched a conspiracy to kill Moose Wala with his younger brother Anmol, Brar and Thapan. He had been using a mobile phone inside the Tihar jail to remain in contact with others.
