JSS college gets A+ accreditation by NAAC

Dharwad: JSS Banashankari Arts and Commerce and Shantikumar Gubbi Science College here has been accredited with A+ rating by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). JSS secretary N Vajra Kumar said on Thursday that the college has secured 3.34 points against four points in the assessment. Highlighting the performance of the college, JSS finance officer Ajit Prasad said 24 students have secured top ranks in UG and PG and won nine gold medals. As many as 147 students from JSS have been selected to represent the university in various sporting events, while 3,000 students have bagged various government scholarships to the tune of Rs 1 crore and seven students have got Inspire Scholarships of Rs 80,000 each. The JSS institutes, founded by late Ramarao Hukkerikar, were taken over by D Veerendra Heggade of Dharmasthala in 1973. A new building with over 14 classrooms for NEP courses worth Rs 5 crore will be built, he added.
