Microsoft Issues Windows 11 Update That Fixes Failed Upgrades, Game Crashes

Microsoft recently released an update for Windows 11 with B5014668.

The software company received complaints from its users that some functions of its newest operating systems are not working properly.

Users complained about the audio and video functions when they tried to play video games.

This fix corrects a bug that in certain games sometimes makes them unplayable when using a particular type of audio technology to play sound effects.

The company also received complaints about the system's Bluetooth issues.

Windows just recently rolled out an update that addresses all the problems and, at the same time, releases new features for the operating system.

Microsoft's KB5014668 Fixes

Microsoft's latest update for Windows 11, which was released today, includes fixes for issues that could cause certain games to crash when utilizing particular audio technology.

The optional KB5014668 cumulative update preview for Windows 11 repairs issues that led to game crashes and failed upgrades to the most recent version of Windows.

BleepingComputer reports that this cumulative update is included in Microsoft's planned monthly "C" updates for the month of June 2022.

It gives Windows users the opportunity to test upcoming fixes before they are made available to all users on the 12th of July, which is when the next Patch Tuesday takes place.

Both Windows 11 and Windows 10 version 1809 will be supported by the update. However, the update for Windows 10 will follow in a few weeks.

According to explanations provided by Microsoft, KB5014668 will resolve a plethora of problems for the operating system.

This includes the issues that cause certain video games to become unplayable if they make use of the XAudio API to generate sound effects.

Additionally, KB5014668 will resolve the problems who are experiencing their Windows 11 that

stops functioning properly when installing certain apps.

It also resolves the rare problem of a failed attempt to upgrade the originally released Windows 11. Furthermore, it patches a bug that prevents Bluetooth from reconnecting to certain audio devices after a device restart.

If users want to upgrade their Windows or Microsoft, they just head over to the Settings, go to the search bar, type "Windows Update Settings," and then click it.

There will then be a 2022-06 cumulative update alert. Just click the "Download & Install" button below and the update will start.
