Lucknow: Woman raped on job promise, accused held

LUCKNOW: A 50-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly raping a woman on the pretext of providing job.
The accused was identified as Pankaj Kumar Sharma, a native of Uttarakhand. According to police, Sharma allegedly raped a 45-year-old woman by giving her psychotropic substances. The accused gave assurance to the victim that he would help her in securing a job in the city. The accused asked the woman to meet him in his room where he gave her psychotropic substance and raped her.
The woman alleged that the accused threatened to kill her if she dared to report the matter to police.
Police officials said that the accused was arrested under charges of causing hurt by means of poison and rape.
