Ulhasnagar civic body pulls down 400 illegal political banners, posters and 224 billboards within 7 days

KALYAN: After the deadline given by the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC) to all political parties to remove illegal billboards across the city, the UMC within a week has removed over 400 banners, posters and 224 billboards that have been illegally erected in the city.
The UMC Commissioner and Administrator Dr Raja Dayanidhi on June 9 of this year had written to all political parties across the city to immediately remove all illegal banners and posters from across city and about same had warned printers and publishers publishing banners and posters in city asking them to not print banners which did not has UMC’s permission.
The UMC sources said after the deadline given by UMC was over, a special squad under Jamir Lengrekar, Additional Municipal commissioner started action and within a week from June 14 to June 21 removed over 400 illegal banners, posters and 224 billboards from across the city.
