Ludhiana: A 50-year-old migrant labourer was murdered at an under-construction house in Jagraon on Wednesday night. Though a fellow worker is a prime suspect in the case, Ludhiana rural police have booked an unidentified accused for the crime so far.
The victim was identified as Umesh Sahu of Supol district in Bihar who worked and stayed in the building on Kacha Malik road in Jagraon.
Gurwinder Singh, owner of the under-construction house, stayed with his family at a rented house in Mohalla Atam Nagar in Jagraon. He had bought land in the new colony and was getting a house constructed for the past one-and-a-half years.
The house owner said around 8 am on Thursday, he along with Umesh’s father Jagdish Sahu found the blood-soaked body of Umesh lying on the cot. Umesh’s co-worker was missing since the incident. tnn
