Budget hotel chain Treebo Hotels has brought on board Purvaja Prabhakar as its head of people function, said a statement issued today.

In her new role, Prabhakar will be responsible for delivering on the company’s aggressive talent acquisition requirements, nurturing high performing teams, and preserving and strengthening the company’s culture. She will also be responsible for these activities for the company’s SaaS business, Hotel Superhero.

She will be based out of the company’s headquarters at Bengaluru.

She has more than 13 years of experience in multiple dimensions of human resources. Prior to this role, she spent most of her career at McKinsey & Company where she was responsible for leading the talent acquisition efforts of the India and Middle East offices. “With 800+ hotels across the country and 15%+ month-on-month growth, we are expanding rapidly. In the process we are also increasing the size of our team significantly. But as we grow we want to ensure we keep our culture, the soul of our organisation intact. With Purvaja's extensive experience at organisations with great cultural foundations, I am confident she will strengthen our people practices and help build a caring meritocracy,” said Sidharth Gupta, co-founder, Treebo Hotels.

"The opportunity to build a people strategy to support Treebo’s growth is compelling. I am looking forward to connecting with the organisation at large and working closely with the leadership team to strengthen the people function and take the employer brand to new heights,” said Prabhakar.

The company's investors include Elevation Capital, Matrix Partners, Bertelsmann, and Accor.
