JAIPUR: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has given its no-objection certificate (NoC) to Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) to construct the in-patient department (IPD) tower at SMS Hospital up to a height of 115 metre.
With this, all hurdles related to the height in construction of the tallest building in the state a having a rooftop helipad have been cleared. An official said, fter the survey of the site, a team from the ministry of civil aviation had given its nod to the state government.
Officials said high-rises coming up in proximity to the airport have to get a NOC for height clearance from the AAI.
The site where the building is being constructed falls within a 9-kilometre radius from the airport. An official said, “Any project having a height of 51.48 metres has to approach the AII to obtain a NoC.”
While the height issue has been resolved, the project has hit another roadblock. Sources said an urgent need has been expressed to widen the road near the tower connecting Tonk Road and JLN Marg to 160 feet and build a new GSS of 132 kV capacity.
For this, land will be needed to manage the rush of cars coming to the hospital in large numbers. However, despite several talks, the departments have failed to resolve the issue.
A source said, “A meeting was held at the chief secretary level on April 21 where an assurance was given to provide land soon. After this, the proposal reached the syndicate meeting. The local MLAs were also present but there was no agreement on providing land. After this, SMS administration spoke to the chief secretary. The chief secretary assured to talk to the chief minister in the matter. But, permission is awaited.”
