MYSURU: A block education officer (BEO) and office superintendent at the BEO office of the Education Department were allegedly caught red-handed after they received money from a complainant in HD Kote on Thursday, the Anti-Corruption Bureau said on Thursday.
The ACB sleuths laid a trap following a complaint from a schoolteacher, who had retired two months back. A section of employees at the BEO office had demanded Rs 9,000 from the retired teacher to put up records for the retirement benefits, said ACB Superintendent of Police VJ Sajeeth.
HD Kote BEO M Chandrakanth and Office Superintendent Shankar were caught soon after they allegedly received Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively from the retired teacher, the SP stated.
