VASCO: Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar warned the Authorities of getting people on the streets if the government failed to stop coal pollution at Mormugao port.
He said that despite the chief minister assuring to reduce coal handling by 50%, the pollution control board has renewed Vedanta’s permission for coal handling at the mooring dolphin till 2023.
Questioning GSPCB’s decision to permit coal handling at the mooring dolphin without consulting stakeholders, Amonkar alleged that the board was working in connivance with coal companies. He said he would raise the coal pollution issue during the assembly session.
