Thane teen injured after falling off train
An 18-year-old boy from Kalwa suffered injuries after falling off a moving train between Kalwa and Thane stations, Thursday morning, the railway police informed. The victim, a labourer, was headed towards Dadar and was standing on the footboard with his friends when he lost grip and hit a signal pole 200m from Kalwa station.

A play park which is being carved out for specially abled children at Keshavji Baliram Hedgewar garden in JVPD, Juhu, has run into trouble. The BMC which last month granted permissions to an NGO to use a designated space for specific installations in the garden has stopped work temporary following complaints received by a group of locals.The project to install play apparatus for special kids was coordinated by NGO Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Airport.

Mumbai: FIR registered against cop for raping woman
Bhoiwada police have booked a cop for raping a woman multiple times after making false promises of marrying her. The accused had developed an intimate relationship with the victim under the pretext of helping her file a complaint against her husband. Accused police inspector S Jadhav who is currently posted in Nagpur, has been booked for rape and cheating and an FIR has been registered under relevent IPC sections for the same.

Even as the state and the city saw an increase in Covid infections, the daily test positive rate dropped from 20% on Wednesday to 12% on Thursday. A city civic official said that the weekly trends should be considered to determine Covid surge. The official said, “If at the end of the week, we have a lower tally than last week’s caseload, it can be said that the present surge is plateauing. ” The lone death in the state on Thursday occurred in Mumbai when a 42-year-old kidney failure patient passed away due to Covid-related complications. Since June 14, the city has recorded a death every day.
Mumbai: Choreographer Ganesh Acharya gets bail in sexual harassment case
A magistrate’s court in Mumbai has granted bail to Bollywood choreographer Ganesh Acharya in a sexual harassment case. Acharya appeared in court on Thursday following which the relief was granted. He was not arrested in the case. In February 2020, a First Information Report (FIR) was registered against the choreographer for allegedly sexually harassing and intimidating a woman , the police had earlier said. The FIR, registered at Amboli police station, also named two women, Jayashree Kelkar and Preeti Lad Pujari who are accused of abusing the woman. The case will come u p for hearing on December 12.
