RAJKOT: Financial dispute between two friends led to the murder of the uncle of one of them in Surendranagar town on Tuesday night.
The victim Kamlesh Panara’s nephew Sanjay had lent money to his friend Bhavin Koli a few months ago. While Koli insisted that he repaid the full amount, Sanjay claimed otherwise and kept demanding money. This led to a dispute between the two.
On Tuesday night, Bhavin and his two relatives Rahul and Ravi waylaid Sanjay who was going on a bike and stabbed him in the legs and thighs. Sanjay’s uncle Kamlesh, father Bharat and two other uncles went to meet Bhavin and his relatives to strike a truce.
However, Bhavin and others attacked them with sharp weapons, pipes and bats. Kamlesh was stabbed in the chest and he died in the hospital on Wednesday morning.
Police have booked Bhavin, Ravi, Rahul, Dashrath Koli, Marghaben Koli and Pravin Koli for murder and rioting.
