Two SFI members held for assaulting police officers

Thiruvananthapuram: Parassala police arrested two SFI students of IHRD institute, Dhanuvachapuram, on Wednesday for attacking police officers during the SFI-ABVP clash on Tuesday.
The arrested have been identified as Gowtham Harsh (23), son of Gopakumar of Vaishnavam house at Mankulam Lane in Nemom, and Akash (23), son of Ajikumar of Panayarathala Veedu at Aralummoodu.
They were produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
The SFI students of IHRD institute and ABVP members of VTM NSS College clashed on Tuesday over an argument and vandalised public property. The principal of the college also registered a case for damaging college property and his car during the clash. No ABVP members have been arrested so far.
The sub-inspectors of Parassala police station Bipin Vas and Velappan Nair were injured in the clash.
