Agniveers will be recruited as PE teachers: Kota

Udupi: Backward classes and social welfare minister Kota Shrinivas Poojari said that he will consider accommodating Agniveers, recruited under the Agneepath Scheme, as physical education teachers-cum-wardens in residential schools run by the backward classes and social welfare departments. “Discussions are being held about the scheme across India. We will work towards supporting the Agneepath scheme,” he said. He told the media on Wednesday, that he is proposing a scheme to have approximately 75% of the physical education teachers’ posts in all residential schools of the department in the state, reserved for those who have completed their service as Agniveers. “I will hold discussions with officials, to understand how it can be implemented. All aspects, including qualifications, is being looked at,” he said.
