The NSE Nifty index ended the session 143.35 points up at 15556.65, while BSE Sensex rose 443.19 points to 52265.72.
In the Nifty index, .(up 6.27 per cent), .(up 5.93 per cent), .(up 5.87 per cent), Mahindra & .(up 4.46 per cent) and .(up 4.10 per cent) stood among the top gainers.
On the other hand, .(down 1.62 per cent), .(down 1.23 per cent), .(down 1.00 per cent), NTPC Ltd.(down 0.84 per cent) and .(down 0.67 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
