JALANDHAR: National Commission for Minorities chairman Iqbal Singh Lalpura has sent legal notice to Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvidn Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann as state AAP chief, for carrying his photograph on Punjab unit’s Facebook page among those leaders who have faced action in corruption cases.
In the morning on Wednesday, AAP FB page carried a poster of action against corrupt leaders with pictures of former ministers Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, Sangat Singh Giljian, former Congress MLA Joginder Pal Bhoa and Lalpura. The party leaders realised that Lalpura’s picture was wrong and removed it after sometime but by that time several Punjani netizens had already pointed out the mistake.
Legal notice sent by Lalpura’s counsel asked Mann and Kejriwal to tender unconditional apology on their social media accounts and also to issue a corrigendum stating all the facts.
According to the legal notice, Lalpura, a former IPS officer, had unblemished a decorated career as he served the state police and then he also authored many books on Sikhism.
