Jaipur: Eight persons were injured following an accident on Harmada Road on Tuesday when a bus rammed into a truck, followed by a car hitting the bus.
SHO Mangi Lal said the accident took place near Rajawas Road. “First, the bus hit the truck and then a car smashed into the same bus. The injured were rushed to hospital. Seven persons were injured but all of them are stable now,” he said.
Police said the accident took place shortly after 8.15 am. The truck was travelling from Chomu when it took a sharp U-turn near Rajawas. A bus was travelling behind the truck rammed into it.
A car was also behind the truck and its driver could not bring the vehicle to a halt and hit the truck. The incident triggered chaos as many passengers screamed for help.
Harmada police was informed about the incident and a team soon arrived. Ambulence ferried the injured to hospital. The accident caused a major traffic jam on the road. Police removed the damaged vehicles from the road so that traffic could resume. “We had gone to the spot. Some people sustained injuries but their condition is stable. We are looking into what caused three vehicles to hit each other in quick succession,” said an official.
