Maharashtra on Tuesday reported 3,659 fresh Covid-19 cases, including 1,781 in Mumbai, and one fatality, taking the tally to 79,41,762 and the toll to 1,47,889, a health department official said.
A total of 93,767 precaution doses of Covid-19 vaccine were administered in those aged 18-59 years till 7pm on Tuesday, taking the total precaution doses given in this age group to 43,09,753 so far, according to the ministry data.
More than 11 lakh vaccine doses have been administered till 7pm on Tuesday. The daily vaccination tally is expected to increase with the compilation of the final reports for the day by late night, it said.
The cumulative Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the country crossed 196.44 crore on Tuesday, the Union health ministry said.
The infections brought the total tally to 19,24,532 with 26,239 deaths. A positivity rate of 7.22 per cent was recorded in the last 24 hours.
Delhi recorded 1383 new Covid-19 cases and one death in the last 24 hours, as per the Delhi government health bulletin on Tuesday.
