Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Wednesday at 10:09AM

Jyoti Structures(up 3.25%), Karma Energy(up 1.95%), Transmission(up 1.13%), Voltamp Transformers(up 0.98%), Limited(up 0.30%) and Hitachi Energy India(up 0.07%) were among the top gainers.

Adani Transmissions(down 5.47%), PIGL(down 4.93%), Orient Green Power Company(down 3.50%), JSW Energy(down 3.24%), Inox Wind Energy(down 3.18%), RTNPOWER(down 2.94%), KEC International(down 2.85%), NLC India(down 2.65%), ADANIGREEN(down 2.55%) and Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 2.16%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 200.8 points down at 15438.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 612.1 points at 51919.97 at around 10:09AM.

Maruti Suzuki(up 0.75%), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.69%) and Bajaj Auto(up 0.57%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, JSW Steel(down 5.72%), Hindalco Industries(down 5.16%), UPL Ltd(down 4.75%), Tata Steel(down 3.84%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 3.24%), Tech Mahindra(down 2.99%), Bajaj Finserv(down 2.9%), IndusInd Bank(down 2.81%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 2.63%) and Titan Company Ltd(down 2.47%) were trading in the red.
