SURAT: Senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Tuesday accused
Gujarat BJP leaders of resorting to ‘Operation Lotus’ to destabilize the Maha Vikas Aaghadi government in
Maharashtra, reports Yagnesh Mehta.
“Some people are running the ‘Operation Lotus’ from Gujarat. Let them do it. Around 14-15 of our MLAs are incommunicado while seven to eight are still in touch with us,” Raut told TOI over phone.
He claimed that those in touch want to return but they are not being allowed. “Those who want to return were requesting that Mumbai police be sent to Surat to take them back. They were lied to and taken into cars. They were kidnapped,” Raut added.
“Families of a few of the MLAs have approached local police and lodged a missing report. Some names of rebel MLAs that are in circulation were present with us in the meeting today,” said Raut.
