EID Parry(down 7.85%), Uttam Sugar Mills(down 5.12%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 4.26%), & Chemicals(down 3.83%), MAGADHSUGAR(down 3.72%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 3.64%), & Industries(down 2.40%), Bannari Amman Sugars(down 2.34%), Sakthi Sugars(down 2.29%) and & Chemicals(down 1.80%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 225.5 points down at 15413.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 709.54 points at 51822.53.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.56%), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.01%), Tata Consultancy(up 0.34%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.14%) and Maruti Suzuki(up 0.03%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 6.72%), UPL Ltd(down 6.2%), Tata Steel(down 5.28%), JSW Steel(down 4.48%), Wipro(down 3.27%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 3.06%), Reliance Industries(down 3.04%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 3.02%), Coal India(down 2.95%) and Bajaj Finserv(down 2.68%) closed in the red.
