Mangaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) social media secretary V Shylaja Amarnath said that the allegations of insulting Hindu Gods against her were far from the truth.
She told reporters in Puttur on Monday that the audio clip from the Clubhouse platform has been manipulated before sharing it on social media, only to create a controversy. She demanded a thorough investigation into the controversial audio clip.
“The truth should be brought to light. I will hold a dharna in front of the Puttur town police station if I fail to get justice within 48 hours. I have already filed a complaint against a Youtube channel and another against others who attacked my house. However, none of the accused have been arrested so far,” she said.
An audio clip with derogatory remarks against Hindu gods during a Clubhouse meet on June 16 had gone viral. Based on a complaint lodged by Praveen Kumar from Puttur, Puttur town police had registered a case under Sections 505 (2) and 34 of the IPC against Shailaja Amarnath, Preethu Shetty alias Mahalakshmi, Anil, Puneeth and others.
Meanwhile, Shailaja also had filed a complaint against three unidentified persons for pelting stones and damaging her house at Kasba village in Puttur. A case under Sections 447, 427, 34 of the IPC was booked in this regard. Based on Shylaja’s complaint, the police also have booked a case against a Youtube channel.
