Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 10:55AM

Ugar Sugar Works(up 4.91%), Rana Sugars(up 3.13%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(up 2.48%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 2.32%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 2.21%), K.M.Sugar Mills(up 2.03%), BAJAJHIND(up 2.00%), DCM Shriram Industries(up 1.69%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(up 1.37%) and & Chemicals(up 1.28%) were among the top gainers.

EID Parry(down 5.90%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 1.81%), & Chemicals(down 1.80%), & Industries(down 1.69%), Uttam Sugar Mills(down 1.52%), & Chemicals(down 0.80%) and Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 0.27%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 121.2 points down at 15517.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 361.74 points at 52170.33 at around 10:55AM.

Hero MotoCorp(up 1.86%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.53%), Tata Consultancy(up 1.08%), Bajaj Auto(up 0.57%), Infosys(up 0.55%) and Maruti Suzuki(up 0.52%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 4.57%), UPL Ltd(down 4.56%), JSW Steel(down 3.64%), Tata Steel(down 3.2%), Titan Company Ltd(down 2.24%), Bajaj Finserv(down 2.17%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.16%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 2.1%), SBI Life(down 2.08%) and IndusInd Bank(down 1.97%) were trading in the red.
