AgenciesThe 16th edition of the three-day Indian Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Show (IFJAS) generated business enquiries to the tune of around Rs 270 crore, the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) said on Wednesday.
“Around 680 trade visitors comprising overseas buyers from 54 countries, their representatives and Domestic Volume Buyers visited the show to source their requirement,” said Rakesh Kumar, Director General, EPCH.
The buyers visited from Argentina, Austria, Australia, France, Egypt, Denmark, Iceland, Iran, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Germany, the Netherlands, Greece, Mexico, Italy, Russia, Japan, the UAE, Israel, Turkey, Canada, Brazil, the US, and UK, among others.
As per Kumar, on display were fashion jewellery, semi-precious jewellery, belts & wallets, hand bags & purses, fashion accessories, head & hair accessories, stoles & scarves, shawls, fancy footwear, artisanal apparel, protective wear and components.
“150 plus exhibitors with products in five display categories, regional artisans and entrepreneurs showcased their new lines at IFJAS and are set to return with orders, enquiries and post-fair follow-ups,” he said.
Handicrafts exports in FY22 were $4.45 billion, up 28.9% over the previous fiscal. The exports of Indian Fashion Jewellery & Accessories during 2021-22 was $255.97 million, according to EPCH.
