STF seals drug dealer’s house

Bhubaneswar: The special task force (STF) of the state Crime Branch on Tuesday sealed a house worth Rs 1.32 crore belonging to notorious brown sugar dealer Sheikh Jamsed alias Jamal in Jharpada here. The STF arrested him with brown sugar worth over Rs 1 crore on February 20 here.
After seizure of his property, a proposal has been sent to a competent authority under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in Kolkata to confiscate the asset, an STF officer said. Under the chapter V-A of NDPS Act (Section A-Z), there is a provision of seizure and forfeiture of the ill-gotten property of the accused involved in NDPS cases. tnn
