Delhi: Man wanted for robbery, murder attempt held

NEW DELHI: A man wanted for an attempt to murder and three cases of robbery at petrol pumps was arrested from southwest Delhi's Kapashera area, police said. The accused, Shakti Singh, who hails from Panipat, Haryana, had been on the run since 2019.
He is an alleged member of the Vikash Dalal and Manjeet Mahal gang.In 2019, Vikas Dalal killed his rival Praveen Gehlot under the Dwarka Mod Metro Station. Dalal, one of the ten most wanted gangsters in Delhi at that time, opened indiscriminate firing at Gehlot’s car. However, a police team stationed close by retaliated and shot Dalal dead on the spot. After Dalal's death, Singh shifted his base.
"A team laid a trap based on technical surveillance and finally on June 18, following a specific information, a team conducted a raid in Kapashera area and arrested Singh around 10:30 pm," said DCP (Special Cell) PS Kushwah.
