Hours after going incommunicado along with 26 MLAs following the Maharashtra MLC poll results, Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde shared a cryptic post on Twitter and said he will not cheat on Balasaheb’s teachings for power.
Shinde also said they were staunch Shiv Sainiks and Balasaheb, the founder of Shiv Sena, taught them Hindutva.
Shinde, who has been removed as the party's legislative group leader in the Maharashtra assembly, wrote, “We are Balasaheb's staunch Shiv Sainiks. Balasaheb taught us Hindutva. We have never and will never cheat for power on Balasaheb's thoughts and Anand Dighe Saheb's teachings.”

Shinde, along with 26 Maharashtra MLAs, is allegedly camping at a resort in Surat, Gujarat, a BJP-ruled state.
This move has fuelled speculation of a rebellion within the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra.
The opposition BJP came out on top in the MLC election results, a development believed to be a result of cross-voting by certain MLAs of the ruling government.
