Nagpur Fewer tests on Sunday, Covid cases down

NAGPUR: As it was Sunday on June 19, many districts, including Nagpur, did not conduct random Covid tests of citizens. The daily test count — which was constantly above 5,000 for the last three days — went below 2,500 on Monday.
As tests reduced, the number of new cases also went down to 49. On the other hand, 61 patients recovered in a day. Vidarbha region now has 568 patients under treatment.
Out of 2,499 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, 17 tested positive in Nagpur, nine in Washim, seven each in Buldhana and Bhandara, three each in Gadchiroli and Amravati, two in Chandrapur and one in Akola. Wardha, Gondia and Yavatmal reported no new case. The test positivity rate is again around 2%, which is not worrisome.
Out of the 568 under-treatment cases, 317 are in Nagpur district. Only three of them are hospitalized. The situation is similar across the region. Around 1% of the total under-treatment patients are in hospital.
Nagpur district conducted 991 tests in the last 24 hours — 900 of them in the city. Out of Monday’s 17 new cases, 14 were from the city and three from rural. 29 patients recovered from Nagpur district, of which 20 are from the city, and nine from rural and other states. Nagpur city now has 197 out of the district’s 317 under-treatment patients.
Wardha: No new case was reported positive for coronavirus from 59 test reports, while a patient was discharged on Monday. The active positive cases under treatment remained 25, while total recoveries increased to 57,171. The caseload and toll remained unchanged at 58,155 and 1,351 respectively.
Yavatmal: The district has no new positive patient during the last 24 hours, keeping the death toll unchanged at 1803. Currently there are 09 active positive patients. The administration received 405 test reports and all of them were found negative. The positive cases reported so far was 79080. Of the 877356 samples processed so far, 798276 were found negative. The TPR is 9.01 %, death rate is 2.28 % and the DPR is zero.
Amravati: Three new cases took the district's caseload to 106015 on Monday. The five recoveries reported today took the total to 1,04,367. With this the number of active cases came down to 23. As many as 108 samples were tested in last 24 hours.
Chandrapur: Two detection as against solitary discharge took the active case to 43 on Monday. A patient each was detected in Ballarpur and Warora taluka out of total 129 tests conducted in district. There was no death reported. The caseload has grown to 99,025, while recoveries amount to 97,443. Death toll is 1,567.
