PATNA: Amidst the verbal war between the two NDA partners in Bihar over the Agnipath scheme, the opposition RJD has come in support of the JD(U) and blamed
BJP for the violence in the country on the issue during the past few days.
RJD even criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for holding roadshows and participating in other events, instead of addressing the issues.
"The country has been burning for the past six days. The Prime Minister is doing time pass with roadshows here and there, but is not addressing the youths, neither he is appealing for peace," read a part of the RJD tweet.
In fact, RJD leaders even showed bonhomie towards JD(U). RJD MLA Bhai Birendra and his party spokesperson Mritunjay Tiwari criticised BJP for questioning the good governance of chief minister
Nitish Kumar and state police.
"BJP is responsible for whatever has happened and now they are sending security from the Centre for a select few. Even though both the deputy CMs are from BJP, they are raising questions on Nitish's good governance. The problem is that BJP is not accepting that the entire unrest happened because of the wrong decision of the Centre. One day they blame RJD, the next day JD(U)," Tiwari told TOI.
Birendra even appreciated the statement of JD(U) national president Rajiv Ranjan alias Lallan Singh on BJP state president Sanjay Jaiswal that he had lost his (mental) balance. "I liked what he said. In fact, Jaiswal's statements are meant to divide the country," said Birendra.
He also appreciated the statement of JD(U) leader Jai Kumar Singh that the time has come to take a big decision and BJP should decide whether they wanted to remain in the alliance or not. "They should have done this much before," said Birendra, adding the entire opposition should come together to defeat BJP. He even advised JD(U) to hurry up and part ways with the saffron party.
BJP, on the other hand, said RJD was enjoying the unrest as the opposition had so far no issues to talk about. "The USP of our government has been law and order. Sanjay Jaiswal was right in raising questions on the administration as it remained a mute spectator while the violence was happening. Even we are in the government. This question was to us too. One thing is sure that antisocial elements in RJD had led the violence," said BJP state spokesperson Prem Ranjan Patel, adding the NDA was intact and they will serve the people of Bihar together.
