Punjab IAS officer arrested by vigilance

MOHALI: Punjab vigilance bureau has arrested 2008 batch IAS officer Sanjay Popli on charges of bribery. He was arrested along with his superintendent Sanjay Wats after a complaint was lodged on the anti-corruption helpline.
The case is linked to Popli’s previous posting as the CEO of the Punjab Sewerage Board. Both are accused of accepting a bribe of Rs 3.5 lakh from a contractor and for making other demands. He is expected to be produced in court on Tuesday morning. TNN
