PATNA: The state health department on Monday reported comparatively less number of 35 new Covid cases, taking the active cases to 312 across the state. Patna remained on top with 187 active cases, followed by Gaya and Bhagalpur with 18 cases each. While Saran had eight active cases, Khagaria and Muzaffarpur reported seven active cases each.
Though decrease in the number of new cases per day had been seen for the past two days, officials said the trajectory remained the same.
“Because of no internet services in 20 districts, the data could not be entered from several places. The number of samples tested as well as the cases are expected to be more,” said state health society executive director Sanjay Kumar Singh. Bihar on Sunday had reported 55 new cases, while on Saturday 72 people had been found infected in a day.
As per the data shared by the health department, these 35 cases were against 57,678 samples tested. Department’s official said the number of tests done would also be high as there is clear instruction given to each district in this regard and the state’s target is to test over one lakh samples daily. Meanwhile, 31 people had recovered in the past 24 hours.
