Light rains lash parts of Delhi
The national capital received light rainfall in parts of the city on Tuesday. The mercury had risen slightly early morning with the minimum temperature settling at 24.9 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season's average. The relative humidity at 8:30 AM was 71 per cent, as per data shared by the MeT Office. The maximum temperature is expected to rise to 32 degrees Celsius.

With Delhi not receiving any pre-monsoon showers on Monday, maximumtemperature in the city increased by over two degrees. However, India MeteorologicalDepartment (IMD) has issueda yellow alert for Tuesdaywhen light rain is likely to hitthe national capital. According toIMD, the maximumtemperature at Safdarjung was recorded at 32. 8 degreesCelsius on Monday,six notches below theseason’s average. Aday earlier, it was30. 7 degrees Celsius. Theminimum temperature wasrecorded at 23. 6 degrees Celsius, five notches below the season’s average. On Sunday, itwas 24. 5 degrees Celsius. The humidity levelsoscillated between 61% and80% on Monday. According to the weatherdepartment, the maximumand minimum temperatureson Tuesday are likely to hoveraround 32 and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively. The weather is again likely to turn dryfrom June 21 onwards.
Six Covid deaths, positivity rate 10% on lower testing
The city reported six deaths due to Covid-19 onMonday, though the number of daily new cases dropped marginally to 1,060 following a dipin the test count. The positivityrate stood at 10. 09%. The last time Delhi registered more thanfive deaths in a single day wason February 24. According to the daily health bulletin of theDelhi government, thetest count on Sundaystood at only 10,506. Thecity logged 1,530 new cases on Sunday with a positivity rate of 8. 41%and three deaths. On Saturday, the counts stoodat 1,534 cases with a positivity rate of 7.71% and three deaths.
On Sunday, the city had logged 1,530 Covid cases with a positivity rate of 8.41 per cent and three deaths. The day before, Delhi recorded 1,534 Covid cases with a positivity rate of 7.71 per cent and three deaths.
Delhi's Covid case tally has risen to 19,23,149 while the death toll climbed to 26,238, the department said in its latest bulletin.
The fresh cases were detected out of 10,506 Covid tests conducted the previous day.
This is the highest test positivity rate recorded in the capital since January 24 when 11.8 per cent of the people tested had turned out Covid positive.
Delhi logs 1,060 new Covid-19 cases, 6 deaths in last 24 hours
Delhi reported 1,060 new Covid cases in a day and six deaths, the highest in around four months, as the positivity rate rose to 10.09 per cent, according to data shared by the city health department on Monday.
