Agnipath scheme protests: Railways starts special trains for stranded passengers in Bihar

PATNA: Railways has started several pairs of special passenger trains to help those passengers, who are stranded at different railway stations due to the ongoing protests by army job aspirants against the centre’s Agnipath scheme in the state, reach their destinations safely.
According to ECR chief public relations officer (CPRO) Birendra Kumar, railways is running a special train (02214) between Jhajha and Shalimar for stranded passengers.
The special train leaves Jhajha at 11.40pm on Sunday and reaches Shalimar next day at 5.45am. Similarly, railway has started another special train (07609) between Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction and Purna.
The special train leaves the junction at 9pm on Sunday and reaches Purna at 3.30 am on Tuesday morning, he said.
Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction – Bengaluru special train (02296) leaves at 11.25pm on Sunday and reaches Bengaluru at 4.25pm on Tuesday. Likewise another special train (02742) between Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction and Vasco-Da-Gama leaves at 9.50am on Sunday and reaches its destination at 10.30am on Tuesday, the CPRO said.
Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya–Pune special train (01034) leaves the junction at 11.40pm on Sunday and reaches Pune at 2.15am on Tuesday night. Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction-Secunderabad special train (02792) will leave the junction at 6am on Monday and reach Secunderabad at 11.30am on Tuesday, the CPRO said.
Besides, Dhanbad – Hatia special train (08623) leaves Dhanbad at 11pm on Sunday and reaches Hatia at 4.30am on Monday morning. Dhanbad – Puri special train (08420) leaves at 11.30pm and reaches its destination at 2.15pm on Monday, the CPRO said.
Meanwhile, railways cancelled 362 passenger trains on Sunday and suspended train services during the day time apprehending attacks on railway property by the army job aspirants and their supporters, the CPRO said, adding railways has cancelled Ajmer – Sealdah Express (12988), Dumka - Ranchi Express (13319) on Sunday while Chandigarh–Patliputra Express (22356) will remained cancelled on Monday.
