MUMBAI: The Western Railway RPF nabbed a habitual mobile thief with the help of CCTV surveillance on Monday.
WR chief spokesperson Sumit Thakur said that there were two separate incidents of mobile thefts while passengers were boarding trains from Dadar station.
RPF–Dadar team checked the incident with the help of CCTV footage.
They zeroed in on a suspect who was later identified with the help of an informant. The suspect was a footpath dweller from Andheri East and his name was given as Shyam Gunjar (33).
During his questioning, he admitted stealing both the mobile phones. He was also found involved in other theft cases, an official said, adding that he was subsequently handed over to GRP Mumbai Central for further legal action.
