Interaction programme on ‘love marriage’ held

Mysuru: High court senior advocate Ravivarma Kumar on Sunday criticised the communal forces for imposing their agenda of divide and rule policy, silencing the voice of political detractors, and social activists questioning the government policies by filing sedition like serious cases.
He was speaking after inaugurating a state level interaction programme on love marriage organised by Desi Ranga Samskritika Samsthe in memory of Ramdas at Kiru Rangamandir in Kalamandir in the city.
He condemned the distortion of history, imposing agendas through textbooks. He accused that several forces were imposing their agenda to destroy the unity in diversity, multi-religious, secular set up.
He remembered the contributions of rationalist late Prof K Ramdas who had encouraged inter-caste marriage, love marriages and simple marriages through the Manava Mantapa organisation.
Bengaluru Gandhi Bhavan secretary Indira Krishnappa presided over the event.
